Effective Termite Control Methods To Get Rid Of Those Pesky Termites

Also known as white ants, termites are a nuisance in the house because they feed on the cellulose present in the wooden materials and leave them weak after devouring on them unreservedly. Having termites in the house puts the wooden objects in it at a huge risk of being spoiled, therefore it is recommended that one should try out termite control methods on discovering termites in the house. Depending on your circumstances and the intensity of the infestation, you can choose any one of the following methods:

Fumigation

If your house is infested with dry wood termites then the best way to get rid of them would be through fumigation. Although this technique can be conducted by the homeowners themselves, it is best to have a professional do the same otherwise it could lead to fatal consequences. The procedure involves the release of suffocating gas into the infested wooden structure in order to eliminate the termites and their eggs. The main drawback of this method is that it is very expensive, but on the bright side, it is extremely effective!

Getting rid of termites while still in the early stages of colony growth

If you have discovered that your house is infested with termites while they are still in the early stages of colony growth then you're in luck because it is very easy to get rid of them at this stage. The freezing method would be recommended here. In this method, professionals use liquid nitrogen in the infested walls and areas in order to freeze the nests and destroy them permanently to prevent the eggs from hatching.

Going the DIY way

You can also take care of the termites through DIY termite control methods. These are inexpensive and very effective. Simply purchase some boric acid and dissolve it with water and paint the dissolved acid in the infested areas. By doing this, you will manage to keep the white ants at bay successfully for years on end! This method should, however, be used as a preventive measure as it does not help when the termites have already built a strong colony in your house.

If you are fussy about using poisonous gases or chemicals in order to destroy the termites while they are dwelling in the wooden structures of your house then you should opt for microwave devices that shoot out microwave rays. This method is best used for killing termites in small areas such as walls, doors, windows, etc. You just need to purchase a microwave device and shoot the rays at the termites and they will be dead within two or three days' time.

The Bait Method

This is one of the most common methods for treating termite-infested homes. One shouldn't underestimate the age old baiting system for getting rid of termites because it is extremely effective. Simply take a few pieces of wood and lace them with slow acting termite insecticide and insert them into the colonies. This method is great for killing destructive termites and it is very easy to execute as well!
